Riverside Weight Loss Clinic
We are a physician supervised medical weight loss clinic located in Riverside, California. Our program uses a variety of options to address and prevent weight related chronic health problems by helping you achieve a healthy weight. The program uses a combination of nutritional guidance, physical activity counseling, behavioral therapy, and medication management which includes appetite suppressants (diet pills) to help you achieve your goals. These are the pillars of the Obesity Medicine Association that we find to be most effective in helping each individual to lose weight. The program is designed and run by Dr. Carl Knopke who is a recognized leader in Obesity Medicine. Our patients find the program affordable and easy to follow. NUTRITION
At our Riverside, CA weight loss clinic we offer a wide variety of nutritional advice to help you achieve your weight loss goals. We can advise patients on different types of diets that can span from a ketogenic, high protein, to a vegan diet and everything in between. We are not concerned with getting you onto just one diet but rather we want you to be on the one diet that is right for you. We also offer medical grade meal replacements as a tool to facilitate weight loss for some individuals. Items that we offer include shakes, bars, and meat products. The education we provide helps you to keep your weight off for the long term.
physical activity
There is no doubt that exercise helps in the weight loss process. We encourage all of our patients to exercise regularly. However, we often find people who exercise in a way that does not optimize weight loss. By making subtle changes to your exercise program, we can get you back on the right track to losing weight.
BEHAVIOR
The cornerstone of any successful weight loss program is behavioral management. Utilizing a combination of strategies that involve motivational interviewing and cognitive behavior therapy we can address many common problems that are present in overweight patients. We not only offer you options in how to change your behavior, but we find ways to empower you to be able to make the changes yourself. We identify and treat eating disorders, food addictions, and diagnose and treat many underlying psychiatric issues such as depression and anxiety with appropriate medications to allow for better weight loss and keep the individual from using food as their psychiatric drug of choice.
MEDICATION
We prescribe appetite suppressants or “diet pills” to most of our patients. However, we go beyond this. We are skilled at using popular weight loss medications such phentermine but we also use all of the newest branded appetite suppressants such as Contrave, Saxenda, and Qsymia. We also have several medications that are used “off label” that help individuals with unique problems to lose weight. Using these unique medications, we can help people with food addictions, fibromyalgia, impulse control disorders, and insulin resistance to lose weight. But we go much further than appetite suppressants. We will look at your entire group of active medications that you take for chronic health conditions and we will optimize them to enable you to lose weight. Our goal is to help you to get off of as many of your long term, chronic medications as possible by achieving a healthy lifestyle.”
